Borra Caves



The Borra Caves, also called Borra Guhalu, are located on the East Coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku Valley (with hill ranges elevation varying from 800 m to 1,300 m (2,600 ft to 4,300 ft) of the Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. The caves, one of the largest in the country, at an elevation of about 705 m (2,313 ft), distinctly exhibit a variety of speleothems ranging in size and irregularly shaped stalactites and stalagmites.The caves are basically karstic limestone structures extending to a depth of 80 m (260 ft), and are considered the deepest caves in India.

Araku (Ooty of Andhra)


Araku Valley is a hill station in Visakhapatnam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, lying 111 km west of Visakhapatnam city. This place is often referred to as Ooty of Andhra. It is a valley in the Eastern Ghats inhabited by different tribes.Araku is famous for its coffee plantations surrounded by beautiful gardens, streams, waterfalls and valleys that are covered with lush green forests.

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, (abbreviated as RINL), also known as Vizag Steel, is a government owned steel producer based in Visakhapatnam, India. It is under the ownership of Ministry of Steel , Government of India . RINL is the government entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), India's first shore-based integrated steel plant built with state-of-the-art technology.

Visakhapatnam Port


 Visakhapatnam Port is one of 13 major ports in India and the only major port of Andhra Pradesh. It is India's third largest state-owned port by volume of cargo handled and largest on the Eastern Coast. It is located midway between the Chennai and Kolkata Ports.It is a natural port endowed with deep water basins formed by a high promontory into the sea,known as Dolphin’s Nose Hill to the south and Ross Hill to the North of the entrance channel.The only port in India and first of its kind in South Asia to have a Cavern facility for LPG – a mined rock Cavern at a depth of 200 mtrs. below sea level.

Lambasingi (Kashmir of Andhra)

 


Lambasingi (or Lammasingi),also known as the kashmir of Andhra is a small village in the Eastern Ghats of Chintapalli Mandal of Visakhapatnam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. With an altitude that of 1000 m above sea level, the area is cooler than the surrounding plains and is covered in moist deciduous forest cover. There are several coffee, pine, and eucalyptus plantations around the area and some small attempts to grow apple and strawberry.Best season to visit is Nov to Jan. Best time is 4AM to 9AM max. In winters temperature varies between 1°C-5°C, and not just in winters, but throughout the year, the temperatures stay below 10°C.
